“À la Lavand” is an extremely clean, direct and without any suspicious gesture from the classic of oil and water.

Three red cards, Three black cards.
They are openly alternated.
And yet… they separate, magically.

No suspicious movements.
No complicated handling.
No difficult techniques.
We couldn't be slower…

Everything seems to be done almost all alone, under the eyes of spectators.

A tribute to a master

This version is inspired by the work of the Argentine master Rene Lavand, famous for having turned the world of card magic upside down by practicing his art with only his arm. His style? Slow, clear, relentless. Every gesture counts. Every separation seems inevitable.

“À la Lavand” captures this spirit and pays homage to his famous “No se puede hacer más lento”:

• Absolute clarity

• Controlled rhythm

• Maximum impact

• Accessible method

Style exercise – COPYCAT

This tour is part of the project COPYCAT of Robin Deville (2020) :
a stylistic exercise consisting of creating effects “in the manner of” great magicians, while maintaining a personal and modern approach.

With “À la Lavand”, and thanks to the works of Juan Tamariz, Arturo de Ascanio and Finn Jon, Robin Deville pays homage without imitating, by offering a version:

• Very easy to make

• Without demanding technical handling

• Ideal for close-up

• Perfect for working on presentation and rhythm management
